I enjoy House of Night.

They try to have empowered women but there are times I want to punch the book in its face.

I wouldn't have cheated on Erik.

i finished cheryl strayed's memoir wild last night.

it's definitely one of the best books i've read recently. it actually made me cry a few times. especially when she describes her mother's passing. cheryl was twenty-two at the time, and her mother was forty-five, around the same ages as my mom and i. i can't even imagine how wrecked i would be if i lost her at this time.

in a lot of ways, it was the book i really needed right now, and i highly recommend it. but only if you like memoirs/nonfiction (i know some people can only tolerate fiction books :P) and probably if you're an older reader... (swearing, sex, drugs, you know.)

Sabriel by Garth Nix

Forging the Sword- Hilari Bell (Book 3 of The Farsala Trilogy- anyone think of "marsala" when you see "Farsala"?)

I also have a week to read "Rise of the Wyrm Lord" and "The Final Storm" by Wayne Thomas Batson before I have to turn them into the library.

Albert Camus <3

Sabriel by Garth Nix

That book is so good. I hope you enjoy it.

I'm going back and forth between Illuminatus!, Satan Burger, and various comic books (some Batman stuff, Doom Patrol, DV8, re-reading Sandman). Netflix keeps distracting me from reading.

It would. city 17 and all those districts

if they think Panem sucks hahahah they know nothing.

also

I'm getting annoyed by the repeated themes in this book.

I don't hate the series. and it is an easy read... but it's not great.

Better than most teen books I guess.

esp ones like Twilight

-_-

I finished reading:

"The Rise of The Wyrm Lord" (two days ago) and "The Final Storm" by Wayne Thomas Batson (today)

I am currently reading:

"Forging the Sword" by Hilari Bell

I read the first two books in the trilogy from the library and bought this one in The Woodlands at their awesome, two story Barnes & Noble at The Woodlands Mall (their Hot Topic sucks though).

It is! I've read Abhorsen and Lirael(on tape) as well. It was on the Summer Reading List during the summer in between 6th and 7th grade. I HATED being FORCED to read...

It was one of the only books I liked from that list. Awesome thing is, one of the Harry Potter books was on it one year!

And this is also when "Eragon" was suggested to me by the librarian after it came out. ;)

Hah! People draw parallels between the two and while there may be some similarities...Katniss as a protagonist kicks so much more ass than Bella ever did.

aaaaand I just started Battle Royale and gave up on Mockingjay.

Where did you leave off of on Mockingjay? There's a lot more action the second half of the book. I suppose if you can't get into it though there's no reason to continue.

I think I just really love books with themes of rebellion in them

I like rebellion.

I think I just needed a break

I may go back in a few days.

Battle Royale fills the fucked up darkness I needed right now.
