Kingdom Hearts

Kingdom Hearts is one of my favorite things in the universe, a combination of Final Fantasy and Disney? Hell yes! It the only video game series I really play anymore and I never get bored of it :)

My favorite character would have o be Roxas and Sora, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Donald and Goofy of course (and Leon/Squall!).

My favorite world would have to be Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden because you always get the epic battles of epicness there!

Kingdom Hearts = BEST SERIES. I swear, I've never been so attached to a storyline like this in my life. I could do without Atlantica at times though, especially in the second game where there was hardly any gameplay.

My favorite character is probably Riku. I felt as though from the beginning, he never meant to harm anyone and once he realized how deep he had dug his hole, he couldn't get himself out (without help of course) and throughout the entire series, he been very repentant and tried to make up for what he did in the first game. I don't know, he's just a better guy than he give himself credit for and such.

Also, my favorite world is either Space Paranoids, due to the fact that Tron is one of my guilty pleasure movies or Hollow Bastion in the original game. It was, in my opinion, the most intriguing world to look at from the first game and I thought most of the important gameplay happened in that world.

I have yet to be able to play the PSP game or the newest DS game though :(

ZOMG LIGHT CYCLES! I love Tron with all my being. Saw it ten years ago and always wanted to go into the Grid :)

I new one for the DS is actually really fun. I haven't beaten yet, but there's a bunch of interest battle modes and it makes me squee.

I love Kingdom Hearts, i'm actually cuddled up with my KH blanket right now. ^.^ I can't really pick a favorite character, but my favorite world is probably Halloween Town but i love pretty but all of them. I absolutely cannot stand any of the Monstro part though. I love the whole storyline of this series, it's amazing. :)

Bah, I can't wait for it. I'm really interested in the battle modes because I'm playing through the PS2 version of Chain of Memories right now (I've rage quit so many times that it's hard for me to finish it) so ANYTHING would be better at this point than the card system, even though I like that there's a strategy aspect to it.

Dredging up this topic from way back when (Yes, I do search for things before I make topics or post), eeeeeeeEEEee. Kingdom Hearts. I do a bit of fanfiction-y stuff for my friend's Organization XIII spinoff, and it supplied half of my Killjoy name (The "enigma" bit of "Emotional Enigma" came from my nobody, the Sadistic Enigma).

My personal favourite character is... hm, gotta say Zexion, Saix or Riku. Zexion seemed rather smart (though he croaked early on) and Saix's loyalty to Xemnas was something I admired. Riku did the odd 180 thing, which is awesome - realizing his mistakes as birdsateherface said.

I've only played Re:Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days and part of Re:Coded. I don't own a PS2/3/whatever, so I won't ever get to play KH or KH2 - I've only really been exposed to the Nobodies of the Organization, haha.

Favourite world... well, based on the worlds I've seen, and the games I've played, I kind of liked Traverse Town or the World That Never Was, but my personal favourite was... well, I kind of liked Monstro the Whale... but does it really count as a world?

Now to wait for this topic to be completely ignored. XD

I saw you revive it and was like 'TIME TO NERD OUT AGAIN'

Anyways, in the first Kingdom Hearts game (which you said you didn't read and thus I'm going to give you the background) you fly the gummi ship (which I don't think you have in any of the games you've played if I'm not mistaken) and you have to encounter all the worlds and defeat heartless ships in space and such. So Sora, Donald, and Goofy are all just boppin' around trying to go places and they suddenly just stop and start to talk about this huge thing coming towards them. They realize it's Monstro pretty quick but get eaten by him. POINT BEING, yea Monstro's a "world" but if anything, he's a flying space whale, hellbent on eating unsuspecting Square Enix and Disney characters.

Also in the first KH game, I hated Monstro because it took me FOREVER to figure out how to get everywhere. They made that place to much of a maze.

And I saw this response post and went OMG YAY. (For reference, I bold people's usernames so they know I was talking about them. Just so they don't go >_____> WUT.)

Kingdom Hearts (the game) sounds odd and a little weird. Although, wait... Heartless ships in space? o.o That sounds awesome. I just knew that the main enemy was the Heartless, but due to the relative ease of kicking their butts in the games I played, I thought the first game would be pretty boring aside from cutscenes and such. (Of course, that was just my excuse so I wouldn't pay for a Playstation whatever just to play KH...)

Flying space whale. WTF. Although, that sounds pretty awesome to me. My respect and favouritism for the Monstro-The-World is now doubled. And yeah - it was pretty confusing to get through... him? It was pretty mazelike in Chain of Memories, haha. I always wondered why there were Heartless inside Monstro, but if he's a flying space whale it suddenly makes sense.

You mentioned the Space Paranoids world - what was that like? I don't think I've run into it in any of the games I've played. And I haven't seen the Tron Legacy or whatever thing, though I hear it's got awesome special effects...?

Yea, it's actually a pretty huge part of the first and second main KH games. You cannot enter any world unless you first successfully make it through space in your gummi ship. The Gummi Ship aspect of the game is also the most personalized section of the game because you can collect different models of ships as well as create your own custom ships. It's pretty fun. I think the main games were my favorites because without them, the rest of the games don't really connect as well in my opinion.

But yea, Monstro's just in space. It actually starts out that Pinocchio lives in Traverse Town and then runs away with Maleficent so Geppetto leaves to find him and they both get swallowed up. Montro is the first world other than Traverse Town you truly get to interact with Riku off of Destiny Island as well which made it one of the better plot parts of the game.

Space Paranoids is pretty basically like 'the grid' in the original Tron movie. I think KH II was the only game it was in, but you get to do a Light Cycle challenge and stays true to the plot of the movie. I never really counted Space Paranoids as a 'true' world though because you have to be IN Hollow Bastion to get into it (since, much like Tron, you have to be in the computer mainframe)

Tron Legacy sucked as far as the plot goes and the fact that it doesn't really hold true to the original, but that's Disney's fault. The graphics are quite amazing though; but the rinky dink, new age 80s graphics were what made the original movie so charming for me.

Sorry to bump this from like 3 months ago. but. MIND TWIN. I have also never been so attached to a storyline, and I have a similar admiration of Riku. I wrote a whole blog about the ten reasons I can't live without this series. And I would say, DEFINITELY worth the $200 to buy the PSP-Birth by sleep package. I think it's my favorite of the series. AMAZING.

<3 Kingdom Hearts!

My favorite character is Kairi. (Named my newest kitten, Kairi. <3)

My favorite world would have to be Beasts's Castle or Halloween Town. The Alice in Wonderland one made me angry along with the Tarzan one.

I can not beat Oogie Boogie in the first one. Where it's all like a casino game. I threw my controller against the floor so many times I swore I might've damaged it. (Good thing I had extras.)

Haha, I'm pretty sure everyone gets frustrated with Alice in Wonderland. Oh, and if you still haven't beaten the first Oogie, I remember the first time I played it, I couldn't figure it out either. I was like MOTHER*(@*@&^# WTF!?!? The trick is, bounce his cubes of death back up to him, and after a while of him getting hit, he stops the wheel and raises ONE platform high enough to reach him. How do you make sure you are on that platform so you can thrash him? It flashes before it gets caged and goes up, so run to it when you see it glowing.

Thanks! I'll try to remember that when I play it over again later. =]

If I remember correctly, I never made it onto the platform on time which made me keep losing. Lol

Haha yeah. Remembering is the key! Good luck replaying it! I think I need to do that before the summer is over. Just go through the whole series. So epic.

I love Kingdom Hearts! I used to be so obsessed with it. I remember getting the second one right when it came out, and played it three days straight until I beat it.. ah ha.

Don't really play it much anymore, except for Birth by Sleep on my lunch break at work just about every day xD

Yeah, when I got KH2 I didn't sleep for two days! I was way too fricken' excited! And BBS FTW!!!! I was in college when that came out... so I had some responsibilities and it took me about 2 weeks. How do you like it so far?

@zombieserenade - you didn't like KH2!? I thought it was just as good if not better than the first, based on storyline. And the gameplay was at least 3x more fun. Literally had a blast playing it.
