Greetings, Strangers, Fellow Professional Haters, Friends, Enemies, Time Lords, Muggles and All Kinds In Between:
Promptly destroy what you treasure most, then conquer love.
I’m not fond of this part because this is where I am supposed to gush and lure you in. I don’t find myself all that interesting.
I have dreams sometimes and I hear words repeated or sentences that make no sense but hurt when I wake up. I try to make sense of these dreams and words and put them into something others call a story or a poem.
I have no home or place in the world besides the dark corners of my mind and the computer I use to write and the room it lives in. My friends are television and my family consists of books. I have dreams and goals like someone you may know and I have my own. I will be the female Neil Gaiman and everyone will watch or read my words. My name is ------- and it’s very, very, nice to meet you..
Pretty words I like:
"Saying 'I notice you're a nerd' is like saying, 'Hey, I notice that you'd rather be intelligent than be stupid, that you'd rather be thoughtful than be vapid, that you believe that there are things that matter more than the arrest record of Lindsay Lohan. Why is that?' In fact, it seems to me that most contemporary insults are pretty lame. Even 'lame' is kind of lame. Saying 'You're lame' is like saying 'You walk with a limp.' Yeah, whatever, so does 50 Cent, and he's done all right for himself." — John Green
…because nerds like us are allowed to be unironically enthusiastic about stuff… Nerds are allowed to love stuff, like jump-up-and-down-in-]the-chair-can’t-contol-yourself love it. Hank, when people call people nerds, mostly what they’re saying is ‘you like stuff.’ Which is just not a good insult at all. Like, ‘you are too enthusiastic about the miracle of human consciousness’." — John Green
Here's to the crazy ones.
The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire. They push the human race forward.
Maybe they have to be crazy. How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?
Or sit in silence and hear a song that's never been written? Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?
While some see them as the crazy ones, others see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
We are the music-makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers, and sitting by desolate streams;
World-losers and world-forsakers, on whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers of the world for ever, it seems.
